Eye of Khaos roguelike

In Eye of Khaos, you control a sword and sorcery heroes like the mighty barbarian, the well-armed hoplite or the cunning temptress.

You seek an adventure in an iron age world and fight creatures of Greek myth, denizens of the nine hells and aberrations from the voids between the stars.

The world is unforgiving and the hero's journey is filled with perils, where careful tactics are needed to avoid your untimely demise and long-term strategy has a massive effect on success. Not everything is against you though, as diverse talents and numerous magical items can be used to tip the scales in your favor.

Eye of Khaos is a refined graphical roguelike that is easy to understand but hard to master. Special attention has been given to make an easy to use and understandable UI which gives all the information needed to understand the game mechanics.

As a traditional roguelike, the game is turn based with grid-based movement and permanent death. Diverse paths through the game enhance replayability and keep the game fresh even in early levels.

Prepare yourself for battle by carefully selecting your worn equipment, and be ready to swap it around when the situation needs it.

Increase your skills as you gain experience, learn new talents and abilities that expand your options. Having a strategy is worthwhile - but you need to be ready to change it based on what you find and where your adventure takes you.

Use your resources wisely. Consumables are not for hoarding endlessly, and you will not survive for long without using any.

Combat is fast, tactical and deadly. Inflict devastating injuries on your enemies and do everything you can to avoid them yourself. Often a single landed heavy attack can end a fight, so make sure you land the first one.

You are hopefully going to be a hero, but you are certainly not a superhero, and your wounds do not go away after standing still a few seconds. Just like your enemies, you have body parts and organs that can be injured and hinder your ability to act. How to heal and when to use your healing resources is one of the most important decisions in the game.

The enemies you face have different speeds, attacks and abilities. You need to assess your enemies and approach various situations differently so you are the one dealing injuries instead of suffering them.

Use light and shadows to your advantage. Many of your opponents do not see in darkness, and not being spotted is often the best defense. Just make sure to not make too much noise.

Wear enchanted items that have a significant impact on how your character plays - but be mindful of the drawbacks that many magical items have.

With sufficient skill at the magic arts you can use spell casting items to wield sorcery, but do not let the last of your sanity slip away while doing so!

You can craft potions with the alchemy skill and proper equipment, affix charms into your armors and weapons, or even use use magic arts and smithing to enchant items, provided you find the right magic essences to do so.
